Mission

The vision of Avery Harrington school focuses on interpersonal relationships and the development of students, their families, and our staff. We want to address priorities of the Children Achieving Agenda to better prepare our students to be respectful, confident, cooperative, and literate lifelong learners.

Points Of Pride

We are organized into 4 small learning communities that are ongoing and multi-age. We adopt Community of Caring and its philosophies. Our school is decorated with murals painted by our students. Our school colors are blue and yellow.

Admissions Policy

Students must live within designated catchment boundaries; students may apply to a school(s) outside of their neighborhood and will be considered via lottery based on a available space.

Accreditations and Honors

Our school has achieved AYP- Adequate Yearly Progress as assessed through the Pennsylvania State Assessment PSSA for the past 8 consecutive years. Eleven pieces of artwork submitted by her 4th and 6th grade students were selected from the 2012 Young Artists Citywide Art Exhibition to receive the Fresh Artist Award.
