Mission

The Folk Arts-Cultural Treasures Charter School comes out of a history of struggle: for equity and justice for Asian American students and immigrant and refugee students of all races; for public investment in the Chinatown community; FACTS will provide an education that has high academic standards, is community based, incorporates and respects the lives of students and families, engages students in understanding their own cultures, and engages students in working for a just society.

Points Of Pride

  1. 1. We were the first school in the US to adopt Singapore Math curriculum.
  2. 2. We have a strong ESOL program that is nationally recognized and studied by local universities.
  3. 3. We have worldly and accomplished Folk Artists in residence at our school.
  4. 4. As part of professional development, we require frequent, reflective, and transformative discourse among teachers and staff about race, culture, language, privilege, bias, and other factors that affect the world of education.
