Apply Philly Charter (applyphillycharter.org) is a website where you can apply to most Philadelphia charter schools at once using one simple application! Using Apply Philly Charter is easy; you can apply using your smartphone, desktop computer, tablet, or even by phone.
Apply for next school year (September 2024)
The application for the 2024-25 school year will open on September 22, 2023 and close on January 22, 2024. Families who apply in this window will be entered in the schools’ lotteries, which will be held on February 7, 2024. Students will see application results on Apply Philly Charter on February 9, 2024. If a family does not get a seat, they will be placed on the school’s waitlist, and contacted if space becomes available. Families may apply after the January 22nd deadline, but will be placed at the bottom of the schools’ waitlists.
Please note: All 17 Renaissance or neighborhood schools accept applications through Apply Philly Charter, and accept applications on a rolling basis, meaning they will admit and enroll students as applications come in (if they meet neighborhood eligibility requirements). These schools will not close their application on January 22nd, nor will they run lotteries.
Applying for the current school year (September 2023)
For a seat at a charter school for the current school year (i.e. change schools mid-year) families may still submit an application for the 2023-24 school year through Apply Philly Charter. Please note that most schools do not have space and are operating off of long waitlists. Renaissance or neighborhood schools, however, will continue to enroll students from within their neighborhood throughout the year. To see which, if any, schools have seat availability for the current year, start a Current Year application and see the “Seats Available?” column on Section C of the application.
Using ApplyPhillyCharter.org
Once you are on the website, you will need to create a secure profile, and provide basic contact and grade level information. Once your profile is complete, you can choose which charter schools you want to apply to.
Applications submitted through Apply Philly Charter will be sent out to the schools listed on your application. Families will be contacted by schools directly regarding your application(s). Families can log in to their Apply Philly Charter profile any time to see the status of their application or their waitlist status.
