Mission

Inherent in the Anna Lingelbach school's mission is the development of the whole student through the utilization of instructional strategies that develop academic and social skills that foster self-esteem, independent thought, positive values and attitudes, self-discipline and critical thinking. Instructional opportunities are provided for students to become successful and independent learners who are prepared for the challenges and technological advances of the twenty first century and to be college and career ready.

1. Innovative Physical Education (innovative technology in the gym/yard/woods - Ipads, Wii, HopSports, heart rate monitors, GPS, geocaching; Fitnessgram and Presidential Fitness assessments; P.E. Central Challenge) -2. Middle Grades Sports: Soccer, Girls & Boys Volleyball, Golf, Boys and Girls Basketball, Baseball, and Dragon Boat (Healthy Dragons).-3. Physical Activity and Healthy Eating Promotion: Socialized Recess, Healthy You Positive, Energy (HYPE) Student Council, School Wide Movement Breaks, Activity Works - Movement Breaks-4. Outdoor Education: 2 outdoor classrooms, walking trails behind the school in Park Gate Woods, Outward Bound -7th & 8th Grade, 1 day Peer Leadership Challenge course, 5 day Peer Leadership Backpacking or Canoe Expedition, Outdoor School at College Settlement- 5th & 6th Grade, 3day/2night - Intensive studies of earth, plant, agricultural science --5. Admissions Policy

Students must live within designated catchment boundaries; students may apply to a school(s) outside of their neighborhood and will be considered via lottery based on a available space.

Accreditations and Honors

This year we offered the Dancing Classroom to our fifth grade and at finals was awarded bronze recognition.
