Points Of Pride

We are proud to serve Philadelphia students at our campus in the Roxborough section of the city. Our multi-acre outdoor learning laboratory consists of a pond, stream, and wetlands giving students the opportunity to play an active role in solving issues that affect them, their communities, and the environment.

Green Woods Charter School was recognized as an Eco-School USA in 2018, and in 2023 received the Silver Award. Eco‐Schools USA is a nationwide program that engages Pre K‐12 school students, faculty, administrators and community volunteers in a comprehensive, environment based program to improve student environmental literacy and skills.

Green Woods Charter School, through its annual lottery, is required to offer admission to at least 75% of its new students from the 19127, 19128, 19129, and 19144 zip codes. Applications are accepted through Apply Philly Charter..

Green Woods Charter School students are held to a high standard and are expected to follow the school’s three main rules; Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. In addition to our three rules, Green Woods Charter School’s students follow a code of conduct with a clear disciplinary process.

Our Conflict Resolution/Peer Mediation team is made of up middle school students who are trained and take the lead in mediating disputes with younger students.
The Trailblazer Club is Green Woods Charter School’s school-wide behavior plan. The Trailblazer Club is modeled from the Principal's 200 Club, which is a school-wide positive behavior program used in various school districts.
Green Woods utilizes the Olweus Bully-Prevention Program. Backed by thirty-five years of research and successful, worldwide implementation, the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program is a long-term, system-wide program for change.
