KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy
MissionThe mission of KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy is to cultivate the intellect, foster the character and ignite the imagination of our students so they can become leaders who choose their own futures in college and beyond.
Points Of Pride
We combine rigorous academics with a strong focus on providing a well-rounded education. By having school hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., students have time for over three hours of literacy, 90 minutes of math and daily science/social studies. At the same time, we have a focus on character-building and enrichment opportunities like art and music. Students also have daily recess, and kindergarten students take a nap. By the end of kindergarten, over 90 percent of students are reading on grade level, with nearly three-quarters actually performing above grade level. Saturday morning sessions four times a year provide a chance for students, staff and families to come together for hands-on projects and performances.
Admissions PolicyOpen to all students who live in Philadelphia. If there are more applications than available seats, a lottery will be held. The school’s enrollment policy gives priority to the following groups in this order: Parent is staff member or founder, Sibling attending; Sibling accepted offer, Parent is alumni, Lives in Philadelphia
