Mission
Tilden Middle School will provide a rigorous and engaging learning environment in every classroom that nurtures leadership, perseverance, inteGRITy, curiosity, and kindness in order for our students to discover, develop and communicate the skills and content necessary for college and career success in the 21st Century.--At Tilden Middle School, we are attempting to ensure that our students receive a first-class education. As such, we have three school-wide goals that guide the work that takes place here each day: 1. Create a rigorous and engaging learning environment in every classroom. 2. Improve the culture and climate of the school through faculty committees and expanded extra-curricular and enrichment activities. 3. Create and nurture meaningful student, parent, and community partnerships with the school.Points Of Pride
Tilden was selected as a Redesign School by the Office of School Improvement and Innovation in The School District of Philadelphia; Tilden received a grant from the Romy Foundation that supports putting technology in the hands of students; Tilden's Administrative team was one of four urban schools to present at the 2015 PA Implmenters' Forum; Tilden received a grant from The Hamels Foundation to purchase needed equipment and supplies for our school; Tilden had a team of students whose historical research on John Wannamaker was recently published and aired on network television; Tilden’s boy’s basketball team won the 2011 Middle School Public League Championship; Tilden’s classrooms were recently updated with LCD projectors and/or SmartBoards in each room and interactive white board software in more than half of the rooms; Tilden had a student that traveled to Boston, Massachusetts to conduct historical research with the Boston Historical SocietyAdmissions Policy
