Mission

In partnership with our parents and community organizations, our mission is to provide each of our students with a high-quality, multifaceted, academically rich, holistic education in a safe, respectful, nurturing learning environment that will prepare everyone to be intellectually curious, good citizens and an asset to their community.

Points Of Pride

1. Partnership with Mural Arts Program which is beautifying the exterior of the school-2. Award-winning community garden with Eat.Right.Now initiative to promote healthy eating-3. ActivityWorks a program in collaboration with Microsoft that promotes healthy living, student movement and exercise -4. Lowe's grant recipient for exterior beautification projects-5. $365,000 Trust for Public Land grant to restore the front school yard -6. Partnership with the Experience Corps literacy program that provides 15 older adults trained as tutors for grades K to 3. Apple piloted an iPad program this year. -7. Carson Valley STS program, which supports the behavioral needs of selected students-8. Healthy News Works school newspaper funded through a grant-9. New playground via a Trust for Public Land/School District grant-10. Lots to Learn STEM partnership-11. OST programs including Boys and Girls Club, Centro Nueva, Boy Scouts, Scrabble, Chess, Astronomy Club, Sports Club, Robot club.-12. Selected by Wells Fargo Bank and City Year for their "Day of Caring" -13. Partnerships with Temple, Drexel and Community College of Philadelphia-14. Served as launch site for SEPTA's Campaign Against Hunger.-15. PhilaBundance Back Pack Program-16. Coats, gloves, scarves, school uniforms and sneakers distributed to our students throughout the school year.

Students must live within designated catchment boundaries; students may apply to a school(s) outside of their neighborhood and will be considered via lottery based on a available space.
